Never look at another human being as if he or she is only sexuality.~OSHO~

The whole thing seems to be either money or sex. And everybody seems to be reducing life to be just a whorehouse. All sacredness of life is damaged. And then it is natural that if you have a heart which is waiting for love you will remain unfulfilled.

Never look at another human being as if he or she is only sexuality. Look at human beings as really they are. Sexuality is part of them, but they are not just sexuality. A very small part, a beautiful part in itself, nothing wrong about it, but if that part becomes the whole then everything goes ugly. Whenever any part claims to be the whole then things go ugly.

If it is your head which claims your whole personality, you are ugly. Then you have lost your roots into wholeness. If it is sex that claims your whole personality and you start living for it, then again you are reduced — reduced to the earth, your sky is lost. Then you are reduced only to the roots and you don’t have any branches which can spread into the sky and greet the sun and the rains and meet with the clouds and communicate with the sky.

Sex is good, healthy, beautiful, in its own place. Try to understand me: if sex follows as a shadow of love it is tremendously holy. But if love is nothing but a seductive measure, if love is nothing but a salesmanship, if love is nothing but a seduction and only sex is the goal, then sex is ugly, love is ugly; then your whole being, by and by, will become ugly. You will exist like a wound, not like a flower.

Never reduce anybody to being just a sexual object, and never allow anybody to reduce you to being just a sexual object. If sex follows love, if it becomes a harmony in love, it has a totally different quality to it.
Then it is no more sexual.

When it comes as a part of love… you love a person, you want to share everything with the person. When you love the person you want to share your mind, you want to share your body, you want to share your soul, you want to share your meditation, you want to share your… whatsoever you have. If you have an aesthetic sense, you want the person you love to share your poetry, to share your painting, to share your vision, to share your dreams.

Of course, when you love a person you also want to share your sexuality; then it is beautiful, then it has nothing like sex in it, then it is not the libido of Sigmund Freud. Then the energy has a totally different quality to it, and then it helps you to go higher and higher.

Nothing helps you to go higher than love. Nothing can help you as much as love can help you to go higher — because it becomes such a tranquillity, such a calmness, such content, one feels as if one has arrived. One feels grateful, one feels at home in existence. One is no more a stranger.

Remember: while you are relating with a person never relate only for sexuality, otherwise your whole being will become absurd. And treat sexuality as prayer. It is one of the doors towards the divine. Don’t do any sacrilegious act about it.

I have heard:
A pregnant jewish girl asked her doctor what position she would have to lie in to give birth to her baby.
‘The same position you were in when you started it,’ the doctor told her.
‘My god!’ she exclaimed. ‘Do you mean I will have to drive around Berlin in a taxi for two hours with my feet hanging out the window?’

But this is happening. Your aquaintance with love happens in such odd and ugly places. Now the back seat of a taxi! It should happen in a church, in a temple. The very association is ugly.

One should make love only when one is feeling tremendously beautiful, happy, celebrating. One should dance before one makes love, one should sing and pray before one makes love, one should read a few sayings of Buddha, or a few sayings of Jesus, or one should recite the Koran — it is beautiful before one makes love. Love should be entered as a shrine of god. Then love will give you such fulfillment as nothing else can give.

Trust means you are not fighting;

surrender means you don’t think of life

as the enemy

but as the friend.

Once you trust the river,

suddenly you start enjoying.

Tremendous delight arises:

splashing, swimming, or just floating, or diving deep.

But you are not separate from the river,

you merge, you become one.

Surrender means to live the same way in life

as a good swimmer swims in the river.

Life is a river.

Either you can fight or you can float;

either you can push the river

and try to go against the it

or you can float with the river

and go wherever the river leads you.

When we used to play, we thought no one can break Sunil Gavaskar's record. No one could think about 50 Test centuries at that time. This is certainly a big knock under the circumstances, better than the 200s and 300s- Kapil Dev after Sachin Tendulkar scored his 50th Test hundred
Well, it's such a record that you can only compare it with Bob Beamon's long-jump world record set in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. At that time it seemed that it would never be broken. And if some people argue about his greatness then there are certainly no arguments about his being the most prolific, he is a complete run machine and his 50th Test hundred is a testimony of his endurance and passion for the sport- Rashid Latif
It was clear to us even when he walked out to bat in that Test as a teenager that he had talent. It will be difficult for anyone to break his record- Javed Miandad after Tendulkar scored his 50th Test ton
I think it is just the way he has changed the game overall and his own game because there are so many situations he has faced. He is now competing mostly against himself, like most great cricketers do. I think he has mastered all of them. The only challenge he has is to beat himself every time he walks out there because he has done almost everything-Kumar Sangakkara
This was expected... This is one of the finest achievements in cricket history. It is a fantastic performance by Sachin. Records do not matter to him. He will keep playing and records will follow him- Chandu Borde after Sachin completed his 50th Test ton
Putting Sachin Tendulkar's latest feat in a strictly cricketing context would not be fair to the sportsman. His achievements in the world of cricket need to be seen on a par with efforts in any other field - science, art, literature, etc - to push the frontiers of human excellence- Pakistan daily 'Dawn'
Tendulkar is a world class player and a great ambassador for the game. As a youngster I watched the games and that's where all my dreams started. You watch Tendulkar on TV and you think that I want to be like that one day- Graeme Smith
We had gone to see the movie Roja. I was studying medicine then and a couple of my friends planned. Sachin did try telling me that it would be difficult but I insisted that he come along. To make sure nobody recognised him we even got him a beard. He wore specs as well and we went in late. We watched the first half of the film. But during the interval, Sachin dropped his specs and people immediately recognised him. It was a bit of disaster and we were forced to leave halfway-Anjali Tendulkar couldn't watch the second half of the movie with her better half
Actually, I have one particular spot in the house from where I can watch TV and also keep an eye on my Ganpati (Ganesha). I don't eat. I don't answer phones. I don't drink. I don't even move. I don't reply to any sms until he's out- Anjali Tendulkar's routine when her husband is at the batting crease

Prepared for a Battle but with Few Doubts

I’m wearing a strange green outfit, full of zips, and made from very tough fabric. I have gloves on, too, in order to avoid cuts and scratches. I’m carrying a kind of spear, almost as tall as I am. The metal end has three pongs on one side, and a sharp point on the other.
And before me lies the object of my attack: the garden.
With the object in my hand, I start to remove the weeds growing amongst the grass. I do this for quite a while, knowing that each plant I dig up will die within two days.
Suddenly, I ask myself: am I doing the right thing?
What we call a ‘weed’ is, in fact, an attempt at survival by a particular species that took nature millions of years to create and develop. The flower was fertilized at the expense of innumerable insects; it was transformed into seed; the wind scattered it over the fields round about: and so – because it was not planted in just one place, but in many – its chances of surviving until next spring are that much greater. If it was concentrated in just one place, it would be vulnerable to being eaten, to flood, fire and drought.
But all the effort to survive is brought up short by the point of spear, which mercilessly plucks the plants from soil.
Why am I doing this?
Someone created this garden. I don’t know who, because when I bought the house, the garden was already here, In harmony with the surrounding mountains and trees. But its creator must have thought long and hard about what he or she was doing, must have carefully planted and planned (for example, there is an avenue of trees that conceals the hut where we keep firewood ) and tended it through countless winters and springs. When I moved into the old mill – where I spend a few months each other- the lawn was immaculate. Now it is up to me to continue that work, although the philosophical question remains: should I respect the work of the creator, of  the gardener, or should I accept the survival instinct with which nature endowed this plant, which I now call a ‘weed’?
I continue digging up unwanted plants and placing them on pile that will soon be burned. Perhaps I a giving too much thought to things that have less to do with thought and more to do with action. But, then, every gesture made by human being is sacred and full of consequences, and that makes me think even more about what I am doing.
On the one hand, these plants have the right to broadcast themselves everywhere. On the other hand, if I don’t destroy them now, they will end up choking the grass. In the New Testament, Jesus talks about separating the wheat from the tares.
But – with or without the support of the Bible – I am faced by a concrete problem always faced by humanity: how far should we interfere with nature? Is such interference always negative, or can it occasionally be positive?
I set aside my weapon – also known as a weeder. Each blow means end of life, the death of a flower that would have bloomed in the spring – such is the arrogance of human  being constantly trying to shape the landscape around him. I need to give the matter more thought, because at this moment, wielding the power of life and death. The grass seems to be saying: ‘ if you don’t  protect me, that weed will destroy me.’ The weed also speaks to me: ‘ I travelled so far to reach your garden surface. Why do you want to kill me?
In the end, the Hindu Text, the Bhagavad-Gita comes to my aid. I remember the answer that Krishna gives to the warrior Arjuna, when the latter loses heart before a decisive battle, throws down his arms, and says that it is not right to take part in a battle that will culminate in the death of his brother. Krishna says; more or less’ Do you really think you can kill anyone? Your hand is my hand, and it was already written that everything you are doing would be done. No one kills and no dies.’
Encouraged by this recollection, I pick up my spear again, attack the weeds I did not invite to grow in my garden, and am left with this morning’s lesson: when something undesirable grows in my soul, I ask God to give me the same courage mercilessly to pluck it out.

'We can't silently accept a ban on U-25 drinking'

'We can't silently accept a ban on U-25 drinking' - The Times of India

MUMBAI: Unlike some of the characters he has played on the silver screen, actor Imran Khan is a passionate youngster. He feels strongly about issues and bristles at the state's specious actions and inactions. But what has really enraged him this time, besides perhaps the rest of the country's youth brigade, is the Maharashtra government's decision to firmly impose the unusually high drinking age of 25.

The 28-year-old actor calls the administration's resolution troubling. Though just a social drinker himself, Khan says "it shows the growing perception that young people need to be handled or managed. That we are incapable of making rational, informed decisions for ourselves". That is why the celluloid star has decided to intervene. Besides approaching the Bombay high court against the government's resolution, Khan is starting an online campaign on Saturday to rake in support from the public.

"I am starting a page called Power to the Youth on a social networking site, where people can sign an online petition. This drinking law is already a burning issue on the internet with the youth, which goes on to show that many people feel the same way as I do." The actor is hopeful that people in the film industry and elsewhere will come out to support the cause.

This is just step one. Khan says his lawyers will file a public interest litigation on his behalf next week, asking the court to review the law. "I hold an Overseas Citizen Card, which prevents me from filing a petition directly."

It was early this month that the Maharashtra government decided to impose its ban on youngsters under 25 drinking hard liquor. The move caused an avalanche of criticism, with everyone from parents to de-addiction experts lambasting the administration.

Khan elaborates that he does not endorse drinking alcohol, but feels strongly that the youth should have the right to choose whether or not to drink. "At the age of 21, we are legally permitted to vote, to marry, to have children, to enlist for military service and, if need be, to give our lives in the country's defence. If a person is an adult in the eyes of the government, he or she should be free to indulge in any legal activity without a fear of legal clauses."

Besides, the actor says, it is unlikely that the law will stop people under the age of 25 from drinking alcohol. On the contrary, it will merely promote corruption, malfeasance and bootlegging.

"I am afraid that if we stand quiet and let this pass, we will pave the way for curtailment of any number of our liberties. What is to stop someone from proposing a limit on the number of children one can have in order to manage our population?"

It is hypocritical that we can vote, drive and get married before the age of 25, but can't drink alcohol. It is very possible that the youth may rebel
— Sonam Kapoor

The law is not logical and it will be violated. People will consume alcohol, whether at 18, 20 or 21. Most countries have a drinking age of 18 or 21, so why not keep the same cut-off here
— Abhay Deol

Given that you can vote and drive by the time you are 18, it is ridiculous to have a law that does not allow you the right to choose whether or not you want to drink before you are 25. If lawmakers believe you are mature enough to decide what is in the best interest of your country and vote, surely you are old enough to be responsible for the consequences of your own drinking
— Kangna Ranaut

I don't drink, but I endorse Imran Khan's cause. He has shown the courage to fight for the right of youth. Why have a different age for drinking when we are considered an adult at 18
— Ankita Shorey | Pantaloons Femina Miss India International 2011

At 18, if you are responsible enough to marry and have a family, then why not drinking
— Shradha Kapoor

I actually think they should reduce the legal drinking age to 16. India is a young democratic country. We can't believe that our youth is irresponsible. If at 18 we can trust them to choose the government, then we should let them decide whether or not they want to drink. I would urge the government to disseminate through the media and college curriculum information on the ill effects of alcohol abuse and on the need to be responsible when driving
— Kunal Kemmu
